Bad news for Missouri State Lawmaker who wanted President Trump Assasinated
Comments by Missouri state lawmaker online that she hoped President Donald Trump Would be assasinated is being investigated by The US Secret Service.
The comments by Democratic state senator Maria Chappele-Nadal has since been deleted by her.But the comments did not go unnoticed.
In a statement to CNN,Secret Service spoksperson Cathy Milhoan said,"The St.Louis Field Office of the secret service is looking into the comments,"The Secret Service investigates all threats against the President, Vice President, and other protectees, whether they be direct, implied or comments in passing.
"I hope Trump is assasinated" Chappelle-Nadal's comment said according to the St.Louis Post-Dispatch.
The comments has since been deleted and she has apologised for the language she used.She told to the media that her comments arosed due to her frustration to the current political climate.
"No, I don't want to see anyone assassinated, but he should not be president, he should be impeached," Chapelle-Nadal told KMOV. "Someone wrote a statement on my Facebook and I responded with something that shouldn't have been put up there."
Qucikly the lawmakers in the state spoke out against her remark to the President and called for the resignation of the General assembly member.
"I condemn it. It's outrageous. And she should resign."Said Missouri state senator Claire McCaskill,in a statement.
"State Senator Chappelle-Nadal's comments are indefensible. All sides need to agree that there is no room for suggestions of political violence in America -- and the Missouri Democratic Party will absolutely not tolerate calls for the assassination of the President. I believe she should resign." said Chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party,Stephen Webber.
Her resignation was also demanded by Missouri Republican Gov.Eric Gretiens.
The controversial comments by Chappell-Nadal comes amid a week of chaos and division in the US following a weekend of unrest in Charlottesville.
